Strategy of Beating the Recession, the M.A.D Entrepreneurship Way!
Words such as the “gloomy economic outlook”, “recession”, “cut bonuses” and “pink slips” had certainly kept many entrepreneurs on their toes in 2009, including Ms Sandra Neo, Director of Media Associated Displays Pte Ltd (M.A.D).
Sandra described the recession as the “Mother of ALL recessions” because it was the major one since then. Like many others entrepreneurs, she expressed her concerns in management and strategic planning of her company and felt that the entire recession is in fact, DISTURBING.
Disturbing, that credit crunch situation in the US being geographically far-away from Singapore has made its impact felt to the man on the street, to everyone. It does not matter whether employers or employees, everyone was affected in one way or another. Some are reducing budget, freezing head count, no bonuses, no travelling etc.
Sandra felt that It was scary, to say the least. As with many a company, her team were in unchartered waters. It was NOT a comforting fact that big brand names the likes of Lehman Brothers, General Motors, The Bombay Company, etc have officially filed for bankruptcy.
Looking at the other side of it, this recession has shown Sandra that the way to survive is to justify M.A.D’s value to her clients.
Sandra is proud to pledge and share the guiding torch of M.A.D which kept her team going during this bad time:
|
Guiding Torch: We can be counted on, in being our client’s trusted contractor that stays with them through the rise and fall of their budgets. |
What’s more madness? Sandra and her team were MAD enough to show their accounting books and getting the local government’s support to come onboard with them, by taking an equity stake in the company. Sandra aims to display works of M.A.D for all and the world to see.
“Our rule is simple. Our mission is to bring visual communication displays to life! By going to MAD, it is The Most Sane Option.”
